Wooree Group, a South Korean biotechnology and lighting solutions leader, concluded its participation in Vitafoods Asia 2026, held in Bangkok from September 2 to 4. The company showcased its end-to-end bio ecosystem, which includes Wooree Green Science (ingredients), Wooree Bio (manufacturing), and consumer brands Harutin and Clarion. During the event, Wooree Group CEO Ji-yong Yoon highlighted the need for scientific validation standards in the liposome market, emphasizing the importance of rigorous testing before labeling products as liposomal.

Yoon presented Wooree Group's proposed validation framework, the "Six Pillars," which consists of six steps to ensure product quality. These include verifying liposome structure using Cryo-TEM, analyzing particle size, distribution, and concentration using NTA, measuring encapsulation efficiency, ensuring long-term shelf stability, assessing gastrointestinal stability, and evaluating pharmacokinetic (PK) bioavailability. The framework aims to set new industry standards and promote genuine trust in the liposome market.

Wooree Green Science has developed a proprietary liposomal ingredient brand called LIPOPRIME, which includes over 40 ingredients such as Vitamin C, glutathione, omega-3, and curcumin. NTA analysis showed that select LIPOPRIME ingredients feature particle concentrations up to 24 times higher than competing market alternatives. This advanced technology positions Wooree Group as a leader in the liposome market.

The company is also expanding its global footprint, having introduced test products from its health functional food brand Harutin on Amazon in the United States. Wooree Group plans to further expand strategic partnerships across Southeast Asia and the broader global nutraceutical market. In addition, the Group is collaborating with a plant-cell biotechnology firm to develop next-generation functional ingredients.

During the event, Wooree Group's booth received the Silver Award at the Sustainability Booth Design Awards, organized by Informa Markets, for its eco-friendly structure, reusable materials, and waste-reduction measures. This recognition underscores the company's commitment to environmental responsibility and innovation in the bio-healthcare sector.

With 60 years of expertise, Wooree Group, founded as Poongwoo Industrial in 1966, has expanded its operations to include advanced lighting technology and bio-healthcare. The Group's commitment to enhancing human well-being through light and health is evident in its diverse product offerings and innovative validation standards in the liposome market.
