WHP Global and G-III Apparel Group Acquire Marc Jacobs Brand
NEW YORK, Sept. 01, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- WHP Global and G-III Apparel Group have completed the acquisition of the Marc Jacobs brand from LVMH, marking a significant move in the fashion industry. The deal, which was announced today, brings together two companies with complementary strengths to accelerate the global growth of a brand renowned for its innovative and influential designs.
Under the terms of the agreement, WHP Global and G-III Apparel Group have formed a joint venture (JV) to co-own the Marc Jacobs intellectual property. Each company will hold a 50% equity stake in the JV. WHP Global will lead the global brand licensing efforts, while G-III will own and operate the brand, managing wholesale, retail, and e-commerce activities. G-III will also provide support services to the JV.
Marc Jacobs, the brand's founder and creative director, will continue to play a pivotal role in maintaining the brand's creative vision and overseeing runway collections and fashion shows. The acquisition was supported by Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC, which served as the financial advisor to WHP Global, and Gibson Dunn, which provided legal advice. G-III Apparel Group was advised by UBS and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, while LVMH was represented by Barack Ferrazzano.
