White Bear Glass Introduces Frameless Shower Doors for Vadnays Heights

White Bear Glass, a glass and mirror shop serving the Twin Cities metro from White Bear Lake, has introduced new frameless shower doors to simplify bathroom remodeling for homeowners in Vadnays Heights, Minnesota. The company's approach ensures that the opening for the shower door is measured after the tile installation, addressing potential variations in the wall structure.

White Bear Glass measures every opening on-site before cutting any panels, a step that ensures the door fits perfectly once the tile, stone, and pan work are completed. This method, according to Berant Meyer, the company’s spokesperson, helps avoid delays in bathroom projects.

The company's frameless shower doors replace the metal perimeter of a framed unit with heavy tempered glass and minimal hardware. This design requires precise measurements, as the opening must be measured after the tile work is finished rather than off a contractor's plan. White Bear Glass builds this step into the schedule, ensuring that the final measurements are taken on-site and the glass is fabricated to those dimensions.

Homeowners have the option to choose the glass and the finish, with options including clear, low-iron, and decorative patterned glass. Hardware can be selected to match existing fixtures. Low-iron glass removes the green cast visible at the edge of standard glass, a difference that is most noticeable on the thicker panels used in frameless designs. Water- and stain-resistant coatings are available to slow buildup on the surface.

White Bear Glass operates from a shop at 1759 Commerce Ct. in White Bear Lake, where the same fabrication floor handles residential and commercial glass across the metro. Projects follow a three-step sequence of consultation, design, and installation. Most frameless shower door installations run two to three hours, depending on the complexity of the design.

The same build-to-measure approach applies to the glass shower doors in Vadnays Heights, whether in semi-frameless or framed configurations. These designs use thinner glass with partial framing and seal more tightly than frameless systems. Last month, White Bear Glass described a comparable process for fixed glass shower panels in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota.

Beyond shower glass, the company offers residential services such as custom and gym mirrors, glass shelving, glass table tops, patio door glass, insulated glass units, and window glass replacement. Commercial work covers storefront glass repair, heavy glass walls, glass panel railings, and threat-resistant glazing.
