PETALUMA, Calif., Oct. 6, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Wherefour, an ERP platform designed for batch and process manufacturers, has introduced a suite of artificial intelligence (AI) features to enhance operational efficiency while maintaining human oversight. The new capabilities allow teams to integrate their preferred AI tools, such as Claude and ChatGPT, with their Wherefour accounts, providing read-only access to manufacturing data.

Teams can now use natural language to query their data, explore trends, and build dashboards. This integration aims to streamline operations by leveraging AI's capabilities without compromising the integrity of the system of record, which is Wherefour, a SOC II audited traceability platform. The MCP (Model Context Protocol) Connector facilitates this by linking AI tools to the customer’s Wherefour account, ensuring secure and controlled data access.

Beyond the MCP Connector, Wherefour has enhanced its AI compliance tools. These tools can draft quality tests, establish control points, and suggest document tags. However, all outputs are reviewed and approved by the teams to ensure responsible AI implementation. Specifically, the new features include:

- Document Auto-tagging: AI reads an uploaded document, such as a COA (certificate of analysis), and suggests tags like lot number, barcode, invoice, location, customer, and vendor. Users can accept, edit, or remove these tags as needed. - AI Control Points: Users describe the control points a process needs, and AI drafts them. Each control point is reviewed and approved before implementation. - AI Test Definitions: Users describe a quality test, and AI drafts the fields, field types, required fields, and validation rules. The team reviews and approves the test definitions before they are used.

Matthew Brown, CEO of Wherefour, emphasized the company’s commitment to a careful and deliberate approach to AI integration.

These new AI features are now available to all Wherefour customers. The company has ensured that all AI features are off by default, giving customers the choice of when and how to introduce AI into their workflows. This flexibility allows manufacturers to adopt AI at their own pace while maintaining control over their data and processes.

Wherefour offers modern, affordable ERP and traceability software for manufacturers and distributors in various sectors, including food, beverage, cannabis, personal care, nutraceuticals, textiles, and general manufacturing. The platform ensures accurate production costing, inventory control, batch and lot tracking, raw material traceability, overhead monitoring, and customer/vendor relationship management.
