Volatus Aerospace Secures Major Contract for Canadian Armed Forces

MIRABEL, Québec, Sept. 10, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Volatus Aerospace Inc, a Canadian-headquartered aerospace and defence company, has secured a significant contract with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) to supply Low-Cost Tactical Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS). The five-year deal, initially calling for 100 tactical ISR UAS systems, provides Canada with the option to purchase up to an additional 4,900 systems, potentially leading to a total of 5,000 UAS.
Volatus Aerospace was selected through the first Request for Proposal (RFP) issued under Stream 1, Uncrewed and Autonomous Systems and counter-UxS, of the Government of Canada’s Defence Drone Initiative (DDI) Marketplace. The company’s qualification across all five DDI work streams has translated into its first conversion of DDI qualification into a CAF contract, marking a significant milestone in its operations.
The contract encompasses an end-to-end tactical ISR solution, including aircraft, payloads, ground control stations, data links, training, sustainment, spare parts, documentation, and software and firmware support.
