Voiply Rolls Out Robocall Defender to Combat Spam Calls Surge

Voiply, a national provider of voice-over-internet-protocol (VoIP) phone and internet service, has introduced its Robocall Defender to protect customers from a surge in spam and scam calls. The move comes as robocall volume across the United States has reached its highest level in a year, with some area codes experiencing significant increases.

According to data reported by The Hill, Americans received an estimated 4.4 billion robocalls in July, marking the highest monthly volume tracked in the past year. The report highlighted that certain area codes, including (346) Houston, TX, (470) Atlanta, GA, and (229) Albany, GA, saw the sharpest increases, with spikes of 19%, 13%, and 13% respectively.

Felix Yanko, President and Co-Founder of Voiply, emphasized the company’s commitment to shielding its customers from these unwanted calls. Voiply's Robocall Defender uses AI-driven call analysis to distinguish between human callers and automated and spoofed traffic, blocking confirmed spam before it reaches a customer's phone. The feature also enables customers to whitelist trusted numbers, screen calls in real time, and filter unwanted spam texts, providing them with more control than a basic call-blocking list.
