Vishay Intertechnology Introduces High-CURRENT Rectifiers in DFN6546A Package

MALVERN, Pa., Sept. 15, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Vishay Intertechnology has introduced a new series of surface-mount standard rectifiers, marking a significant advancement in the industry. The company has developed four new models: the SE50N6x, SE80N6x, SE100N6x, and SE120N6x, all available in the DFN6546A package. This innovative package is the first of its kind, featuring a low profile design with wettable flanks, making it ideal for commercial, industrial, and automotive applications.

The new rectifiers boast high current ratings, with the SE120N6x delivering a maximum of 12 amperes, while the SE50N6x offers 5 amperes. These devices are available with reverse voltages of 200 volts, 400 volts, and 600 volts, and are AEC-Q101 qualified, ensuring reliability in automotive environments.

The DFN6546A package measures 6.5 millimeters by 4.6 millimeters and has a typical height of 0.88 millimeters, offering a more efficient use of printed circuit board (PCB) space. The compact design and advanced construction technology enable higher copper content and larger chip sizes, resulting in improved thermal performance and higher current ratings. Compared to similar devices in the SMPC (TO-277A) package, these new rectifiers offer a 10% lower profile, 20% higher current ratings, and 82% higher forward surge capability.

The rectifiers feature an oxide planar chip junction design, which reduces typical reverse leakage current to less than 0.1 microamperes. Their low forward voltage drop, down to 0.77 volts, further enhances efficiency by minimizing power losses. These devices operate over a wide temperature range from -55 degrees Celsius to +175 degrees Celsius and comply with IEC 61000-4-2, air discharge mode, ensuring electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection.

The wettable flanks of the DFN6546A package facilitate automatic optical inspection (AOI), eliminating the need for X-ray inspection. The rectifiers are RoHS-compliant and halogen-free, making them suitable for environmentally conscious manufacturing processes. Samples and production quantities of the new surface-mount standard rectifiers in the DFN6546A package are now available, with lead times of eight weeks.
