Village Farms Appoints Deepak Anand as Vice President of Government Affairs

Village Farms International, Inc., a global leader in cannabis and plant-based consumer goods, has appointed Deepak Anand as Vice President of Government Affairs. Anand brings a wealth of experience in international market development and government relations, having worked with more than 40 cannabis companies and tobacco and consumer packaged goods firms.

Anand's appointment reflects Village Farms' strategic focus on expanding its international footprint. The company is one of the world's largest and most profitable cannabis operators, with a diverse portfolio that includes cultivation assets in Canada, the Netherlands, and the United States. Village Farms operates the world's largest EU-GMP certified cannabis facility in Delta, British Columbia, and holds equity interests in cannabis businesses in Australia and Germany.

Deepak Anand, a widely respected voice in global cannabis policy, will lead government relations, regulatory affairs, and public policy strategies across the company's global operations. His experience includes advising cannabis companies, developing businesses in Europe, and serving on several boards and advisory roles in the global cannabis industry.

Prior to joining Village Farms, Anand served as President of ASDA Consultancy Services, where he advised more than 40 cannabis companies globally. He also held the position of Vice President of Government Relations at Cannabis Compliance Inc., a leading cannabis regulatory and compliance consulting firm acquired by Deloitte, and as Vice President of Business Development at Zenabis. Anand has developed businesses in Germany and the United Kingdom and has held several board and advisory roles in the global cannabis industry.
