Velocity Appoints Finance Expert to Board

Velocity Minerals Ltd., a Vancouver-based mineral exploration company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange, has announced the appointment of Erik Marchand to its board of directors. The appointment is in line with the January 16, 2019 strategic investment agreement between Velocity and Artemis Gold Inc., which named Erik Marchand as the nominee to replace Gerrie van der Westhuizen, who has resigned from the board effective October 1, 2026.

Erik Marchand, a Chartered Professional Accountant with over 15 years of finance and accounting experience in the mining and natural resources sectors, has joined Velocity as a director. His appointment comes as a result of the strategic investment agreement, under which Artemis Gold Inc. has a significant stake in Velocity Minerals Ltd.

Marchand currently serves as Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary for Artemis Gold Inc., a position he has held since September 2021. Prior to joining Artemis, he held progressively senior finance roles at one of Glencore's international mining operations, as well as other site-based operational roles within British Columbia. Marchand began his career with Deloitte, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Accounting.
