Valsoft Corporation Inc, a Montreal-based software developer, has expanded its reach into the U.S. correctional and public health sectors through the acquisition of Dallas-based Medicalistics, LLC. The transaction, completed through Valsoft's wholly owned subsidiary, Edelweiss Software Group, marks a significant entry into new markets and leverages Medicalistics' established platform to deliver integrated healthcare technology solutions.

Founded in 2010, Medicalistics has provided software for correctional facilities, jails, and public health agencies across the United States. The company's flagship eZmar eMAR solution supports electronic medication administration, patient request workflows, and analytics, enabling agencies to deliver safe, compliant, and well-documented care. Medicalistics' services reach more than 430,000 patients nationwide and support a range of programs, from medical and behavioral health to dental and public health.

Anthony Caruso, Managing Partner at Edelweiss Software Group, expressed confidence in the acquisition, stating, "Correctional and public health agencies need software they can count on every single day, and that's exactly what Medicalistics has built. We're backing the team, building on what already works, and supporting the continued innovation behind Medicalistics' commitment to 'Better Technology for Better Care.'"

Chris Russell, CEO of Medicalistics, added, "Joining Edelweiss Software Group marks an exciting next chapter for Medicalistics. From day one, our mission has been better technology for better care, and the correctional and public health agencies we serve count on us every single day. This partnership gives Medicalistics a long-term home with a team that understands our market, respects what we have built, and provides additional resources to support our continued growth and innovation."

Valsoft's strategy is to invest in established businesses and foster an entrepreneurial environment, positioning each company as a leader in its industry while providing long-term support. The acquisition aligns with Valsoft's goal of expanding its portfolio into new vertical markets, particularly those with critical needs in healthcare and public safety.

Moving forward, Medicalistics will continue to operate under its existing brand, maintaining its focus on serving correctional and public health organizations. The integration with Edelweiss Software Group will likely bring additional resources and expertise to support Medicalistics' ongoing development and innovation, ultimately enhancing the quality of care provided to patients in correctional and public health settings.
