Vaisala Launches Vaisala Care for Data Centers

Vaisala, a global leader in measurement instruments and intelligence, has introduced Vaisala Care for Data Centers, a new service portfolio aimed at helping data center operators maintain measurement accuracy and operational reliability. This move comes in response to the increasing complexity of data centers, which are growing larger and more intricate, making it challenging to ensure the accuracy of measurements essential for cooling performance, energy efficiency, and uptime.

According to Jonatan Hongisto, Director of Industrial Measurements’ Service Portfolio at Vaisala, the accuracy of environmental measurements is crucial for data centers. "Even a minor measurement drift in humidity or temperature can cascade into cooling failures, hardware damage, or downtime," he explained. "The cost of getting it wrong can be significant."

The new Vaisala Care service portfolio includes three offerings: Vaisala Care, Vaisala Care+, and Vaisala Commissioning Care. These services provide a structured approach to calibration, verification, and long-term measurement support throughout the facility's lifecycle. Vaisala Care focuses on basic calibration and verification services, while Vaisala Care+ adds expert support and replacement probe pools. Vaisala Commissioning Care offers on-site services and commissioning-phase calibration documentation.

Vaisala Care for Data Centers is designed to help operators manage measurement performance across hundreds of instruments in large, complex facilities. Unlike traditional service models that focus on individual instruments, Vaisala's new portfolio may also include selected third-party measurement devices. This approach aims to simplify measurement management across the entire facility, ensuring that operators can maintain confidence in their measurements while supporting cooling performance, operational reliability, and uptime.

The service concept aligns closely with Vaisala's measurement product architecture, including solutions from Indigo, Origo, and compact probe portfolios. Pre-calibrated probes can be exchanged quickly, helping to reduce maintenance effort and minimize disruption in live operating environments. The portfolio includes remote and on-site service options as well as commissioning-phase calibration and handover documentation for new facilities, allowing operators to choose the service model that best fits their operational requirements.

Vaisala's new service portfolio is specifically designed for hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data centers, where accurate measurements are critical for business operations. By offering a comprehensive and structured approach to measurement management, Vaisala aims to support data center operators in maintaining the accuracy of their instruments and ensuring the smooth operation of their facilities.
