Tycho.AI Receives $900K Contract for SFF C-UAS Interceptor

Cambridge, MA, Sept. 23, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Tycho.AI, a company that builds mission-critical autonomy software and mission-optimized compute hardware for unmanned systems in GPS-denied and communications-contested environments, has received a significant contract from the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). Under the Advancing Naval Capabilities through Holistic Opportunities and Resources (ANCHOR) Other Transaction Agreement (OTA), Tycho.AI has been awarded a $900,000 contract. The terms of the 12-month agreement are such that Tycho.AI will design, develop, and deliver 10 prototype interceptors for the U.S. Special Operations Forces (SOF). These interceptors are designed to be small, lightweight, and fully autonomous, capable of rapid deployment and use by dismounted ground troops.

The SFF (small-form-factor) interceptor is a critical component of Tycho.AI’s portfolio of fast, agile autonomous platforms, which also includes Halley, a versatile tailsitter airframe built for C-UAS (counter-unmanned aerial system) intercept, one-way attack, swarm formations, and ISR (intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance) operations. Halley, weighing just 5.2 pounds, features a lightweight, foldable design that allows for rapid deployment and easy transport.

Tycho.AI’s SFF interceptor is specifically designed to counter Group 1 and Group 2 unmanned aerial system (UAS) threats. It is a man-packable quadcopter that can be used to defend against threats in communications-denied and degraded environments. The SFF interceptor is designed with open-architecture standards and a modular payload bay to ensure it can adapt to current and future threats.

The SFF interceptor is expected to be a game-changer for dismounted ground troops, providing them with the ability to counter threats on the move. Over the 12-month period of performance, Tycho.AI will design and develop 10 prototype interceptors and conduct new equipment training and multiple live-fire warfighter evaluations with the U.S. Special Operations Command.
