Truist Wealth Hires Tory Sherman as National Director

Charlotte, N.C., Truist Wealth, the private wealth business unit of Truist Financial Corporation, has announced the hiring of Tory Sherman as the Wealth Brokerage national director. This new role is aimed at accelerating the growth of Truist Wealth's brokerage and advisory services.

Sherman, a seasoned leader in the wealth management industry, will report to Bryan Cram, head of Wealth Brokerage for Truist Wealth. In his role, Sherman will oversee the sales and sales support functions, focusing on advisor productivity, client acquisition, and revenue growth. He will also collaborate closely with teams from Truist Wealth, Wholesale Banking, and Truist Premier to develop a unified go-to-market strategy.

"Tory is a proven leader with a deep understanding of what advisors need to succeed and what clients expect from their wealth management relationship," Cram stated. "His track record of building high-performing teams, driving growth, and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration will help us enhance advisor productivity, attract top advisor talent, and continue building a destination wealth platform."

With nearly three decades of experience in wealth management, Sherman brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role. Most recently, he served as executive vice president and president at Comerica Financial Advisors, overseeing the firm's national brokerage and wealth advisory business. Prior to that, he held the position of national sales and strategy leader at Comerica, where he designed and implemented enterprise-wide sales strategies and strengthened cross-functional partnerships.

Sherman's extensive background also includes a two-decade tenure at Wells Fargo, where he started as a financial advisor and eventually took on market and senior wealth management leadership roles.
