WALDORF, MD, September 04, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Trollinger Law LLC has launched its annual Hometown Heroes Award to recognize and reward local first responders who dedicate their lives to serving their communities. The firm is now accepting nominations from all first responders in Charles County and Southern Maryland, including paramedics, police officers, firefighters, emergency response teams, public safety providers, emergency hospital workers, military service members, and other emergency workers.
The award will be presented at the D.C. United game on October 24, 2026, with the winners announced on October 5, 2026. Each recipient will receive a $500 cash prize and four complimentary tickets to the luxury suite. Honorees will also be recognized on the field at halftime.
According to Matt Trollinger, founder of Trollinger Law and a personal injury and workers' compensation lawyer based in Waldorf, the Hometown Heroes Award was created to honor the often-unrecognized efforts of first responders. "First responders help people and families during some of their darkest and most vulnerable hours," he said. "We're proud to express our appreciation for their courage and support."
Previous honorees have included current and retired members of the Charles County Sheriff's Office, Marine Corps, Charles County Department of Emergency Medical Services, local police and fire departments, and volunteer rescue squads.
