Totaligent claims marketing stack is outdated, AI-driven platform is the future

BOCA RATON, Fla., Sept. 03, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Totaligent, Inc., has released a groundbreaking white paper titled "The Marketing Stack Is Dead. AI Wrote the Obituary. The Evidence Is In." as part of its Future of Enterprise Communications series. The paper challenges the current paradigm of marketing software, asserting that the industry is undergoing a fundamental shift towards a unified communications operating system driven by artificial intelligence (AI).

The central argument of the white paper is that businesses are not lacking in traffic but in memory. According to the IAB/PwC Internet Advertising Revenue Report, U.S. internet advertising reached a record $294.6 billion in 2025, yet typical on-site conversion rates remain under 3 percent. This suggests that while companies are investing heavily in digital marketing, they are failing to retain and effectively engage their audience across different touchpoints.

Scott Brinker and Frans Riemersma’s State of Martech 2026 report highlights that the marketing-technology landscape had over 15,500 commercial products by 2026, with marketers using only about 49 percent of the capabilities they already pay for. This surplus of disconnected tools has created a fragmented and inefficient system, emphasizing the need for a unified platform that can integrate and optimize these tools under the guidance of AI.

Ted DeFeudis, CEO of Totaligent, explained, "For years, businesses have addressed every marketing problem by adding another application. Marketing did not become more powerful by getting more digital; it became more rented. AI alone cannot fix this by writing better subject lines. It can only fix it if the system underneath can remember who engaged with the brand, on which channel, with what creative, and whether they already said no."

The white paper delves into several key areas, including why the marketing stack flattened in 2026 despite the proliferation of products and the ongoing challenge of first-party audience ownership. It also explores how generative and agentic AI can transform the economics of software, noting that isolated AI features cannot coordinate work that the stack cannot see.

Totaligent's design premise is centered on a unified approach: one audience, every channel, and one source of truth. The company’s platform includes Smart Capture, Smart Engage, Smart Links, and Smart Cookies, all operating on a shared ledger to track user interactions. This architecture aims to replace the fragmented marketing software stack with a communications system built for AI to operate, not just decorate.

On March 5, 2025, Totaligent opened a public beta of its consumer-facing platform. By December 23, 2025, the company had completed quality-assurance testing across the core marketing and campaign platform. The white paper reflects the architecture behind this work, emphasizing the unification of communications, audience intelligence, creation, distribution, and measurement, followed by the operation of intelligence within the system.
