Ramcharan as President & Chief Executive Officer and Board Director, effective September 22, 2026.
The appointment of Dr. Ramcharan marks a significant moment for Total Metals, as he brings a 25-year track record of execution and value creation across the Canadian mining sector. The leader who has been actively recruiting Dr. Ramcharan for over a year, starting prior to the Company’s listing on the TSX Venture Exchange, is Tyler Thorburn, the outgoing President & CEO.
Ramcharan’s extensive experience in mining and exploration, corporate development, project evaluation, and investment banking is a testament to his commitment to the industry. His career began with Dynatec Corporation, where he contributed to the start-up of the McCreedy and Levack Mines in northern Ontario. Subsequently, he served as Manager, Corporate Development at IAMGOLD, supporting equity financings exceeding $600 million and project acquisitions totaling over $800 million.
In 2013, Ramcharan led the discovery of a major NI 43-101 compliant gold resource exceeding one million ounces in Panama. Throughout his tenure, he conducted over 300 project evaluations and oversaw numerous debt and equity financings, driving strategic growth initiatives that delivered an eightfold increase in share price across two junior exploration companies within 12 months.
Ramcharan’s academic background is equally distinguished, holding a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Mining Engineering from prestigious institutions including the Colorado School of Mines, the University of Leoben, and the Harvard Business School Continuing Education Program. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario and a Fellow of both The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM) and The South African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM).
Total Metals also owns 100% of the High Lake and West Hawk Lake Project, covering 958 hectares in two gold properties located along the Trans-Canada Highway straddling the Manitoba/Ontario border. The Lake property includes the Purdex Zone, which has significant exploration potential and will be the primary target for initial exploration and potential future mining activities. The West Hawk Lake property is comprised of a single mineral lease, located within southeastern Manitoba.
The Pick Lake property, consisting of 75 claims and a mining lease covering over 5,260 hectares, is accessible via a road connected to the Trans-Canada Highway to the south. The Pick Lake critical minerals deposit has an average strike length of approximately 250 meters and a depth extension tested between 300 to 1,200 meters.
