Tiziana Life Sciences Signs MOU with KAIMRC for Multiple Sclerosis Research

BOSTON, Sept. 17, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Tiziana Life Sciences, a biotechnology company developing immunomodulation therapies, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the King Abdullah International Medical Research Center (KAIMRC) of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS), Ministry of National Guard, Health Affairs, and the Foundation for Neurologic Diseases. The collaboration aims to evaluate the efficacy of combining Tiziana’s proprietary intranasal foralumab and existing anti-CD20 therapy in patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) who are not responding adequately to anti-CD20 therapy alone.

Foralumab, a fully human anti-CD3 monoclonal antibody, has shown promise in reducing neuroinflammation in clinical studies. In three such studies, the intranasal administration of foralumab demonstrated a favorable safety profile and clinical response in patients. The ongoing Phase 2 trial in non-active secondary progressive multiple sclerosis (na-SPMS) remains blinded, with expected results in October 2026.

The MOU was signed by Ivor Elrifi, CEO of Tiziana Life Sciences, during an event at the Riyadh Global Medical Biotechnology Summit (RGMBS) in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on September 16, 2026. KAIMRC, a biomedical and clinical research center, is part of the Ministry of National Guard, Health Affairs and is dedicated to translational research and national research capability. The Foundation for Neurologic Diseases is a recognized expert in neuroimmunology and multiple sclerosis research.

Elrifi further elaborated, "This collaboration represents an additional Multiple Sclerosis type beyond our ongoing na-SPMS program, and does not change our efforts toward na-SPMS. Signing the agreement at RGMBS underscores the growing global interest in collaborative approaches to address significant unmet medical needs."
