Tiernan Gold Corp Advances Volcan Gold Project Through Key Developments

Tiernan Gold Corp. has made significant strides in advancing its Volcan Gold Project, located in the Maricunga Gold Belt, Atacama Region, Chile. The company's latest update highlights several key developments that are crucial for the project's progress.

Tiernan's 2026 re-logging program of 15,077 meters of core has confirmed that the gold mineralization at Volcan is primarily controlled by silica veining, alteration, and key structural controls. This technical advance is a significant step in understanding the deposit and will be extended across the full deposit through additional re-logging and structural interpretation.

To enhance metallurgical assumptions, Tiernan has initiated a Bulk Leach Extractable Gold (BLEG) campaign. This 4,486-sample BLEG campaign aims to build a spatially informed recovery model across the deposit, connecting the geological interpretation to recovery inputs for the Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS). The company expects to publish an updated Mineral Resources Estimate (MRE) alongside the PFS in the first half of 2027, reflecting the results of this work.

High Pressure Grinding Rolls (HPGR) has been identified as the preferred tertiary crushing basis. Initial SGS Canada Inc. coarse-ore bottle-roll results from HPGR-crushed material confirm rapid gold dissolution and improved recovery across five tested composites. Phase 2 of the metallurgical program is focused on confirming cyanide consumption, cyanide-soluble copper, copper management parameters, and process-design support for carbon-in-column (CIC) and Sulphidization, Acidification, Recycling and Thickening (SART).

Tiernan has secured the necessary permits to begin environmental baseline mobilization. The baseline field-work scopes cover air quality and meteorology, water and hydrogeology, water quality, flora and fauna, archaeology, and the social and human environment. Field-work contracts have been awarded to Chilean qualified environmental contractors, and a comprehensive schedule for field campaigns to cover the spring and summer seasons is in place.

The company currently holds cash of US$36.2 million as of June 30, 2026. This financial position is sufficient to fund the ongoing work. Tiernan is committed to advancing its geological and resource model work, which will extend the same rigor across the entire deposit. The updated MRE is expected to be published alongside the PFS, reflecting the work done.

Metallurgical recovery is a critical value driver for Volcan. The current program, which is being conducted at SGS, is designed to validate current recovery inputs that reflect the geological variability identified through the company's re-logging and domain work. Initial results from five tested composites confirm that tertiary crushing with HPGR provides more rapid gold dissolution compared to conventionally crushed material. This early indication supports the selected HPGR approach.

Tiernan is also focused on mining trade-off studies and PFS engineering. Ausenco Chile Ltda. continues as the lead PFS consultant, integrating a multi-disciplinary study team and delivering an updated NI 43-101 Technical Report. Deswik is engaged for key trade-off studies and open-pit mine design and schedule optimization.

The company expects Volcan to be permitted on continental groundwater drawn from its own wells, which are located approximately 21 kilometers northeast of the Dorado deposits. The Chilean subsidiary holds extraction rights authorized by Chile's Dirección General de Aguas (DGA) on two developed wells. Authorised extraction is approximately 3.9 million cubic meters per year per well, a total of 7.8 million cubic meters per year, with a permitted maximum of 170 liters per second. The average pumping rate required for the project is 105 liters per second, as disclosed in the Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) statement dated December 8, 2025, filed under its issuer.

In summary, Tiernan Gold Corp. is making significant progress in advancing the Volcan Gold Project through a combination of geological understanding, metallurgical work, and environmental baseline studies. The company's commitment to these efforts positions it well for the upcoming Pre-Feasibility Study and Environmental Impact Assessment.
