OAKVILLE, Ontario, Oct. 02, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- The Women’s Centre of Halton, a long-standing organization in the Halton region, has received a significant boost in its mission to empower women and enhance digital inclusion. On Friday, a representative from the local MPP Stephen Crawford met with the Centre’s team to celebrate the $76,000 Seed grant awarded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) in November 2025. This grant, part of OTF’s broader investment of nearly $107 million into 746 community projects in the 2025-26 fiscal year, will support the Centre’s digital programming and help it continue to empower women to move forward with confidence and independence.
The Centre, which has been serving the community since 1989, is dedicated to ensuring all women have the opportunity to live with dignity, safety, and fulfillment. The Centre provides free programs and services that support women through life transitions, including barrier-free access to supportive programs and services for women experiencing crisis, transition, or distress. The Centre offers a compassionate and confidential environment, ensuring that women can find the support they need to navigate their challenges.
The $76,000 grant will fund several key initiatives, including the purchase of five new laptops for the Centre’s Laptop Library, updating and improving client data safety, and strengthening cybersecurity through the implementation of organization-wide data management and security measures. These investments are crucial in breaking down barriers to technology, safeguarding client privacy, and delivering critical community programs.
The Centre’s mission is to break down barriers to technology, enhance digital inclusion, and strengthen organizational safety and infrastructure. The grant will enable the Centre to continue its vital work in empowering women and providing them with the tools and support they need to thrive.
