NEWARK, DE, UNITED STATES, October 20, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- The Refugee Archive, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that records the oral histories of single mothers and female-headed households living in active displacement, has won the DAF Day 2026 Award for Best Social Post. The award, announced by Chariot at its DAF Day Awards ceremony, comes with a $500 donor-advised fund (DAF) grant.
Chariot, a financial technology company that helps nonprofits receive and process gifts from donor-advised funds and workplace giving platforms, runs the annual DAF Day Awards. This year, more than 2,600 organizations utilized Chariot's DAF Day toolkits, and over 5,000 people registered for the DAF Day webinar series. The competition was fierce, with a wide field of participants vying for recognition.
The Refugee Archive's winning post was created as part of its DAF Day campaign. The design team, led by Ian Harold Daluyen, Social Media Manager, and Pia Frances Pagulayan, Senior Digital & Content Designer, crafted the campaign in just a single week.
Kristi Dawn Riggs, Founder and Executive Director of The Refugee Archive, expressed gratitude for the recognition.
The $500 grant will support The Refugee Archive's oral history collection, which is active in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Nigeria, and Uganda. The organization is also planning pilot projects in South Africa, the West Bank, and Jordan. TRA's core work involves collecting long-form oral histories from single mothers and female-headed households living in active displacement as refugees or internally displaced persons (IDPs). Every other TRA program grows out of that collection, including the Story to Action Lab, the Policy Tracker, and the Art of Oral History program.
