The Goddard School, the nation’s leading premium early childhood education provider, is celebrating World News Day on September 28 by transforming its students into “junior journalists.” This initiative aims to harness children’s natural curiosity and teach them the fundamentals of journalism, such as asking questions and sharing stories.

Across the country, Goddard School students will engage in hands-on journalism activities tailored to their age and development. They will interview classmates and teachers, hold press conferences, and report on their own classroom news. This celebration is part of the school’s exclusive inquiry-based education program, Wonder of Learning®, which centers on children’s interests and encourages them to explore and ask questions.

The celebration extends beyond the classroom with a special series of Recess Therapy interviews featuring Goddard School students, hosted by series creator and comedian Julian Shapiro-Barnum. Shapiro-Barnum, known for his candid and often hilarious conversations with children, will put the microphone in front of curious students to explore their perspectives on a variety of topics.

Goddard Systems, LLC, established in 1988, manages the franchise system of The Goddard School. The company is consistently recognized as one of the leading franchises in the United States by Entrepreneur, ranking 68th in the 2026 Franchise 500. Additionally, The Goddard School is included in Franchise Times’ 2025 Top 400 and Franchise Business Review’s 2026 Top 200 Franchises. Goddard Systems currently licenses more than 690 Goddard School franchises, serving almost 100,000 students from six weeks to six years old in 37 states and Washington, D.C.

Recess Therapy, part of the Doing Things portfolio of 40+ creator-led brands reaching nearly 100 million people, will collaborate with The Goddard School for World News Day. The series, known for its unscripted interviews with children, will highlight the curiosity that sits at the heart of both childhood and journalism.

The Goddard School’s approach to education starts with a simple belief: children learn best when they are encouraged to explore their natural curiosity. Through its exclusive inquiry-based education program, Wonder of Learning®, children learn through hands-on discovery, while teachers thoughtfully build on their interests to create engaging, personalized classrooms. Supported by expert knowledge, data-driven insights, and a deep understanding of child development, Wonder of Learning helps children build critical thinking and problem-solving skills while inspiring a lifelong love of learning.
