HOUSTON, Oct. 14, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- TenEx Technologies has announced significant advancements in the control of sand production in oil wells, particularly in long-lateral horizontal wells in the Williston Basin. The company’s SandBOND™ technology has demonstrated the ability to extend pump run life by 5.5 times and 4.7 times in two treated wells, without any production loss and with 100% regained permeability.

Chord Energy, a leading operator in the Williston Basin, faced persistent challenges with sand-driven pump failures in approximately 10,000-foot lateral wells. The company sought a solution to decrease these failures, which are a common issue in such wells. Following a single SandBOND™ treatment, both wells have operated for more than a year without a sand-related pump failure. The treatment involved a simple bullhead injection followed by a 24-hour soak, with no need for additional intervention or specialized equipment.

The technology, which is a non-resin, atomized aluminum-based sand-control solution, is designed to control proppant production while maintaining well productivity. The treatment is straightforward, requiring only a bullhead injection and a 24-hour soak. The results are particularly significant, as they show sustained pump performance and zero production losses.

TenEx Technologies has been at the forefront of developing materials-based chemistries for oil and gas operations. The company has deployed its technologies across North America, South America, and the Middle East. In 2025, TenEx Technologies was selected to join Chevron Technology Ventures' Catalyst Program™, underscoring its commitment to innovation in the industry.

These field results from Chord Energy are part of a broader effort to address the challenges of sand production in oil wells. The successful application of SandBOND™ in the Williston Basin could have significant implications for the industry, potentially reducing maintenance costs and extending the operational life of wells.
