COLUMBIA, Md., Sept. 03, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Tenable, the exposure management company, has joined forces with OpenAI to develop a new security review process for AI agents and components through the CyberAgents Exchange. This collaboration was unveiled at OpenAI’s Intelligence at Work: Cyber Summit, where Tenable announced the launch of the CyberAgents Exchange AI Inspector (Exchange Inspector). This tool aims to enhance the security of AI components used in enterprise environments.

Exchange Inspector, which combines Tenable’s expertise in security with OpenAI’s advanced AI models, is designed to provide a rigorous security review process for AI agents and skills. The tool will also include expert review from Tenable researchers, ensuring that community-built AI components are vetted before deployment in enterprise settings. According to Eric Doerr, chief product officer at Tenable, the collaboration is a crucial step in enabling security teams to trust and safely adopt agentic AI.

The CyberAgents Exchange, an open-source registry for AI agents and skills, was launched in August 2026. Following its recent SWARM build event hosted by Tenable at Black Hat USA, the registry now hosts over 100 community-submitted AI components. The Exchange Inspector will leverage this growing ecosystem, providing a comprehensive security review for these components.

The Intelligence at Work: Cyber Summit, hosted by OpenAI, brought together top cybersecurity leaders to explore the integration of frontier AI into enterprise security strategies. The summit highlighted how advanced cyber reasoning can be integrated into existing platforms and workflows, helping defenders move faster and strengthen enterprise resilience.

Eric Doerr explained, “Agentic AI will only reach its full potential in the enterprise if security teams can trust the components being introduced into their environments. By combining OpenAI GPT cyber models with Tenable’s security expertise and researcher review, we’re building a more rigorous way to inspect community-built AI components before they’re used in enterprise environments. This is an important step in applying frontier AI to help defenders identify and prioritize risk across the growing agent ecosystem.”

The Exchange Inspector is expected to be available in September 2026. Tenable’s partnership with OpenAI marks a significant step in the application of advanced AI technologies in cybersecurity, providing a robust solution to the growing challenge of securing AI components in enterprise settings.
