TOKYO, JAPAN, October 15, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Tektome Inc., an AI solutions company based in Tokyo, has joined the ‘FY2026 DX Programme in Building Administration’ run by Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT). The programme, which aims to improve the efficiency and quality of building administration tasks, was launched in response to the growing need for digital transformation (DX) in the industry.
The programme, titled ‘Study on Promoting DX in Building Administration,’ is part of the ‘FY2026 Comprehensive Programme for Promoting DX in Building Administration.’ It runs from April 2026 to March 2027 and invites proposals across several themes. Tektome’s affiliate, Incubit Inc., submitted a proposal that was selected under Theme 4, focusing on the study of promoting DX in building administration.
The project aims to explore the potential of AI in the building confirmation application process and establish benchmarks for evaluating the reliability of AI tools. Building confirmation is the statutory review required before construction can begin, ensuring compliance with Japan’s Building Standards Act. This process is similar to the building regulations approval in the UK and the plan review for a building permit in the US.
Tektome’s role in the project is to identify the challenges and needs of practitioners in building confirmation application and review work. The company will conduct interviews with designated confirmation and inspection bodies, which handle the majority of building confirmations in Japan. This will help in setting out the review items and work processes required in practice, as well as the needs related to the use of AI, in preparation for the introduction of Building Information Modeling (BIM) data review by MLIT in spring 2029.
During the trials, Tektome will assess the applicability and usefulness of AI tools in real review work. The company will also help develop and improve the evaluation framework and refine the test questions based on the comments and issues raised. The ultimate goal is to reduce the burden on both reviewers and applicants, improve the quality of reviews, and promote the transparent evaluation and adoption of AI solutions.
The project plans to compile a draft proposal for the AI tools and trial results, as well as a general-purpose set of benchmark questions and benchmark scores. These outputs will provide private-sector review bodies and businesses with a fair and transparent basis for assessing the performance and reliability of AI solutions. Additionally, the use of AI tools will help detect inconsistencies between drawings and application forms, ensuring that standards are met and reducing the risk of human error.
Tektome Inc., founded in 2023, is dedicated to delivering digital transformation in construction through its AI platform, Tektome. The company’s platform combines cutting-edge AI technologies to help pass on technical expertise and raise productivity in architectural design. By participating in the FY2026 DX Programme, Tektome aims to contribute to more efficient and higher-quality building administration.
