AMSTERDAM, Sept. 23, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Sungrow, a global leader in photovoltaic inverters and energy storage systems, has launched its all-in-one residential energy storage system, PowerHarbor, in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg. This move comes as net metering in the Netherlands is set to end on January 1, 2027, prompting homeowners with rooftop solar installations to reconsider their energy storage options.
PowerHarbor is designed to address the key concerns of homeowners: how the system will integrate with their existing solar systems, the space it will occupy, and the ease of management. The system brings together the inverter, battery, backup, and energy management functionalities in one compact unit, under the theme "All in Harbor."
The system's "Triple W" value proposition, Win More, Waste Less, Work Faster, aims to help households maximize their solar energy usage while minimizing space requirements and simplifying installation. PowerHarbor is built to capture the midday peak in solar generation, storing excess energy for use when prices are high or during peak household demand.
A key feature of PowerHarbor is its advanced AI-driven energy flow management. The system comes standard with iHomeManager Mini, an AI solution that uses weather forecasts, household consumption patterns, and electricity prices to optimize energy storage and discharge. This intelligent management allows homeowners to make better use of their solar energy and reduce waste.
For households with existing solar installations, PowerHarbor offers a flexible retrofit solution. It can be deployed as separate inverter and battery units, adding storage without the need to replace existing equipment. The system's 100 V startup voltage and wide MPPT range support more string layouts, allowing existing panels to be retained where possible. Each module has its own built-in battery optimizer, enabling the addition of new modules without the need to replace existing ones.
PowerHarbor also supports up to 150% three-phase unbalanced output, making it suitable for modern homes with high-power appliances such as heat pumps, induction hobs, and electric vehicle chargers. This feature ensures that these appliances can run simultaneously without overloading any single phase.
In terms of installation, PowerHarbor is designed for quick and easy setup. The battery modules stack without external cables, and the blind-mate connection takes around 10 seconds per module. The system also integrates with EnergyBridge, the industry's first Mini backup solution, which fits inside a standard distribution box and installs in around 20 seconds with no wall damage. For energy management, iHomeManager Mini plugs in as standard, eliminating the need for a separate EMS control box.
