Sun Summit Completes Major Drill Program at JD Project

Sun Summit Minerals Corp. has completed a significant 2026 exploration drill program at its JD Project in the Toodoggone Mining District, north-central British Columbia. The company drilled over 16,000 meters across three zones, Creek, Finn, and Schmitt, using five drill holes. This marked the largest single-season drill program ever initiated at the JD Project.
The Creek Zone, which covered an area of approximately 650 by 300 meters, saw 21 drill holes totaling about 7,400 meters. These holes were designed to follow up on significant previous results, including an 81.0-meter interval of 4.80 grams per tonne (g/t) gold in drill hole CZ-25-021, announced in November 2025.
The Finn Zone, covering an area of 650 by 600 meters, received 19 drill holes for approximately 5,400 meters. These holes aimed to evaluate the down-dip and strike-extent of the favorable volcaniclastic unit, which hosts near-surface, bulk-tonnage gold-silver mineralization. A notable result was 17.0 meters of 2.31 g/t gold with 113.1 g/t silver, including 6.0 meters of 5.30 g/t gold with 157.9 g/t silver in drill hole FZ-25-002, reported in January 2026.
The Schmitt Zone, covering an area of 350 by 150 meters, saw 15 drill holes for approximately 3,200 meters. These holes were designed to investigate the western extent of Finn Zone-style gold-silver mineralization. All holes drilled in the Schmitt Zone intersected local zones of strong brecciation and alteration, similar to the western strike-extent of Finn Zone-style mineralization.
Sun Summit CEO Niel Marotta expressed satisfaction with the results, stating, "Completing 55 drill holes and over 16,000 meters of drilling across Creek, Finn, and the newly tested Schmitt Zone is a significant milestone for Sun Summit and for the JD Project. The results we saw from several western Finn Zone holes gave us the confidence to expand the program and put 15 additional holes into the Schmitt Zone. We are encouraged that every hole drilled in the Schmitt Zone intersected mineralization."
The company plans to release assay results as they are received, with the goal of producing inaugural mineral resource estimates for Creek, Finn, and Schmitt in the first quarter of 2027. Additionally, a project-wide airborne mobile magnetotelluric survey was completed, and a focused induced polarization geophysical survey is set to commence shortly.
