SAN FRANCISCO, CA, October 06, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Stell Engineering, a US-based company specializing in AI-native requirements management platforms for aerospace and defense programs, has achieved a significant milestone in its security roadmap. The firm has attained FedRAMP Moderate Equivalency for its commercial cloud service offering, the Stell Requirements Management System (SRMS).
ControlCase, a recognized Third Party Assessment Organization (3PAO) under the FedRAMP program, conducted an independent security assessment of the SRMS. The assessment confirmed that the system meets all the security controls required by the FedRAMP Moderate baseline, as outlined in the Department of Defense (DoD) CIO’s December 2023 memo on cloud service providers hosting covered defense information.
This achievement is crucial for defense contractors, as DFARS 252.204-7012 mandates the use of providers that are FedRAMP Moderate authorized or equivalent. The 2023 memo raised the bar for equivalency, requiring 100% implementation of controls in the Moderate baseline and validation by a 3PAO. Stell Engineering has met these stringent requirements, ensuring that its SRMS can be trusted to safeguard mission-critical data.
Anne Wen, CEO of Stell Engineering, emphasized the importance of security in the company’s mission.
Sam Rahn, Security Program Manager at Stell Engineering, highlighted the collaborative effort that led to this milestone.
Stell Engineering’s SRMS holds a FedRAMP Ready designation on the FedRAMP Marketplace and maintains a current SOC 2 Type II report with no findings. Its government cloud offering, the SRMS Government Cloud, has an Impact Level 5 Authorization to Operate from the U.S. Space Force Space Systems Command. The SRMS Government Cloud has also completed its FedRAMP High assessment, with its authorization package currently under review by the FedRAMP Program Management Office.
Stell Engineering’s CMMC Level 2 certification from an authorized C3PAO further underscores the company’s commitment to security and compliance. The firm’s platform is designed to ensure that aerospace and defense programs meet all customer, interface, regulatory, and functional requirements, with organizations such as the USSF using Stell to develop and maintain interface specifications for faster procurement and integration of new launch vehicles, spacecraft, and payloads.
This achievement marks a significant step forward for Stell Engineering in its mission to maintain capability dominance on the battlefield by driving unmatched speed and technical execution in the engineering of complex systems.
