STARCARES Renovated School Court Now Serves Both Students and Community

SUKHOTHAI, Thailand, Sept. 14, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- STARCARES has transformed a sports court at Ban Nam Lat School in Sukhothai, Thailand, into a vibrant hub for both students and the surrounding community. The renovation, completed months ago, has turned the once single-purpose facility into a multi-use space that supports physical education during the week and community play on weekends and evenings.

The court now serves 62 students from Ban Nam Lat School for physical education classes. On weekends, it opens to the broader community, reaching approximately 600 people across 180 households. This transformation aligns with STARCARES' broader mission to create accessible, multi-use spaces in rural areas, where limited recreational infrastructure often leaves residents with few options for gathering and play.

The court's dual-purpose design reflects a recognition that many rural schools in Sukhothai function as the only nearby space for community gatherings. STARCARES designed the renovation to prioritize the needs of the school first, with the community gaining access once school hours end. This model has proven successful, as evidenced by a recent incident where a child from the surrounding community joined Ban Nam Lat School students on the court. The spontaneous game turned into a moment of belonging, highlighting the space's potential to bring children together beyond the school environment.
