NEW YORK, Oct. 5, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Solana Foundation has unveiled Solana DvP, an open-source delivery-versus-payment infrastructure designed for financial institutions. This program, built on the Solana blockchain, aims to bring the certainty and efficiency of atomic settlement to the world's leading financial institutions for the first time. Released under the MIT license, Solana DvP offers financial institutions a reusable standard for settlement on the Solana blockchain, providing isolated escrow and enforcing deadlines to ensure that both the asset and cash move simultaneously, eliminating principal risk.

The program is the result of collaboration between Solana Foundation and J.P. Morgan, which provided valuable input on institutional settlement practices and requirements.

Solana DvP supports SPL Token and Token-2022, including the extensions regulated issuers depend on, such as permanent delegate, pausable tokens, and transfer hooks. Any two counterparties can use the program with any settlement agent, including banks, custodians, and exchanges. The program has undergone external security audits and is ready for use with real funds. Solana Foundation is also planning to add privacy features to the program, allowing trade settlements to be made private and confidential.

Solana DvP is designed to replace the traditional multi-day process of settlement, which involves a chain of clearinghouses, depositories, and custodians, tying up capital for one to two days. With Solana DvP, the process is compressed into a single atomic transaction, ensuring both legs settle together or neither does, with finality in seconds rather than days.
