Sokin Launches MCP Connector for AI-Driven Financial Operations

Sokin, a global financial platform, has launched a Model Context Protocol (MCP) connector that integrates AI tools with its payment infrastructure. This new feature allows finance teams to run financial operations through AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity, streamlining the process of managing and optimizing money.

The MCP connector enables AI to retrieve live balances, foreign exchange (FX) quotes, and payment statuses. It can also prepare currency exchanges, add new beneficiaries, and draft payment instructions. Each instruction is presented to the customer for confirmation, and existing Sokin approval rules apply before any settlement occurs.

According to Vroon Modgill, founder and CEO of Sokin, "In an agent-driven world, the advantage lies with those who control the underlying infrastructure. The Sokin MCP makes our licensed infrastructure directly accessible where clients will conduct and orchestrate financial operations in the future, through AI."

The MCP connector has been tested and handled 10 multi-currency invoices and treasury moves in under 10 minutes, significantly reducing the time accounts payable teams would normally spend manually keying in payments. Each payment still requires human confirmation before it is executed on Sokin's licensed rails.

Pete Daunton, Chief Strategy Officer at Sokin, explained, "A read-only connector is just a search bar with more personality. Our MCP reaches the tools that create beneficiaries, quote exchange rates, and prepare payments. The ability to give agents real work is what will save our customers a lot of time and what they will love most about this."

Sokin's customers can already reach the platform through the portal or embedding it inside their own platforms through APIs. The new connector adds a third route, through compatible AI and Large Language Models, including Claude and ChatGPT.

The MCP connector offers several functionalities, including preparing beneficiaries, currency exchanges, single payments, and presenting full instructions for customer confirmation. It also returns wallet balances and transaction activity for every corporate account the authorized user can access, retrieves current FX quotes for exchanges between supported Sokin wallets, finds existing beneficiaries, and checks new beneficiary details against payment route requirements.

Sokin's comprehensive platform enables global businesses to send and exchange more than 70 currencies and hold balances in 26 currencies through one comprehensive platform. The platform streamlines cross-border accounts payable, receivable, and treasury operations, making it easier for businesses to manage their financial transactions.

With the launch of the MCP connector, Sokin continues to enhance its offerings to meet the evolving needs of its customers, providing them with a more efficient and integrated way to manage their financial operations through AI.
