Smart Factory Debuts OMNIS at London Resilience Summit

Smart Factory, a Kansas City-based enterprise transformation firm founded in 2010, has unveiled its latest innovation, OMNIS, at the London Resilience Summit. The two-day event brought together leaders from insurance, operations, finance, security, risk, and governance to discuss the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in business resilience.

According to Doug Richards, the firm's Executive Chairman and the inventor of OMNIS, this debate is crucial as the industry grapples with the practical applications of AI.

Richards argues that the focus on building better harnesses for AI models is misguided. Instead, he believes that bespoke software applications orchestrated by the OMNIS Command Center are the controls enterprises truly need.

Richards contends that this approach is newly possible because the economics of software have changed.

He further elaborated that OMNIS keeps data under the client's control, verifies every request, records every action, and allows any component to be replaced, all while requiring no data centers and still deploying private AI securely.

Heather Richards, the firm's Managing Partner and CEO, emphasized the importance of control-by-design for successful AI adoption.

Smart Factory's approach puts OMNIS at odds with much of what Richards calls "Big AI." Unlike traditional AI solutions that route a company's knowledge through a general-purpose model, OMNIS keeps data under the client's control, verifies every request, records every action, and allows any component to be replaced.

The company's track record is impressive. Smart Factory has delivered $6.3 billion in documented client value for 62 enterprise clients across eight industry verticals, with a 98 percent client renewal rate. The firm is now seeking investors for a rapid-scale investment that delivers OMNIS subscriptions, services, consultants, and hardware to mid-size and early-enterprise organizations.

The GenAI Divide, a 2025 study by MIT NANDA, found that 95 percent of enterprise generative-AI pilots produced no measurable impact on profit and loss. This statistic underscores the need for a more practical and controlled approach to AI adoption, as exemplified by Smart Factory's OMNIS platform.
