CANNES, France, Oct. 13, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Sky Blue Cinematix and Studio JANCHI have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to develop global brand partnerships for Season 2 of "Monks in the Kitchen," a highly acclaimed Korean temple-food series that has already achieved significant international success. The MOU was signed at the Korea Pavilion during MIPCOM Cannes by Chairman Dato’ Manikandamurthy Velayoudam for Sky Blue Cinematix and Chaiyoung Kim, Global Marketing Lead and Producer, on behalf of Studio JANCHI CEO Baek Heon-seok.

The partnership marks the expansion of Sky Blue Cinematix's global footprint, allowing the company to introduce the proven Korean food format to a wider audience. Season 2 of "Monks in the Kitchen" will take viewers on a culinary journey to Italy, where the series will premiere on Korean terrestrial television and over-the-top (OTT) platforms in the first half of 2027.

The partnership with Studio JANCHI will offer brands a natural, story-led integration within the series' themes of food, mindfulness, and tradition, rather than conventional product placement. This approach will allow brands to be part of the story rather than an interruption.

The first season of "Monks in the Kitchen" aired on KBS, peaking at a 2.5% rating, and streams on major Korean platforms. Beyond broadcast, the series has garnered more than 1.5 million cumulative YouTube highlight views, a companion book, and features in leading Korean magazines. Season 2 will bring Korea’s temple-food tradition into conversation with one of the world's great food cultures in Italy in November 2026, and will be released on Korean terrestrial TV and OTT platforms in the first half of 2027.

The partnership with Studio JANCHI will allow brands to be part of the story rather than an interruption, offering natural, story-led integration woven into the series' themes of food, mindfulness, and tradition. This approach will provide a global stage for brands that want to be part of the story, not an interruption to it.

Sky Blue Cinematix's expansion into South Korea marks a significant step in its journey to becoming a global content engine, with the company now operating in multiple industries and regions. The partnership with Studio JANCHI will further enhance Sky Blue Cinematix's reach and impact, bringing the unique and resonant world of "Monks in the Kitchen" to a wider global audience.
