SJE Names Andrew Baines as Senior Vice President of Sales & Commercial Operations

SJE, a global leader in control systems, has appointed Andrew Baines as Senior Vice President of Sales & Commercial Operations for its Engineered Control Solutions (ECS) Division. Baines will spearhead the growth strategy across diverse markets, including water and wastewater, original equipment manufacturer (OEM), and industrial sectors.

Baines brings extensive experience to the role, having previously served as SJE's Asia Pacific Sales Leader and holding various senior positions with Flowserve, a leading provider of flow control products and services. His role will encompass leading the multichannel commercial organization, which includes direct sales, manufacturers' representatives, and channel partners. Baines will also work closely with Operations, Engineering, Marketing, and Product teams to enhance commercial operations and customer relationships.

In his new position, Baines will focus on strengthening pipeline management and forecasting, advancing strategic pricing and quoting practices, and improving quote-to-order velocity. His responsibilities will extend to deepening relationships with customers and industry stakeholders, ensuring a scalable and high-performing commercial organization that supports sustainable growth.

According to Andy Wilson, President of SJE ECS Division, Baines has been instrumental in identifying and proposing critical organizational changes that will benefit the broader organization over the long term. "Andrew’s appointment is a key milestone in the continued evolution of the ECS commercial operating model," Wilson stated. "His leadership will be crucial in driving the division’s growth and ensuring our commitment to building a disciplined and high-performing organization."

Andrew Baines holds a Bachelor of Engineering with honors in Integrated Engineering from Nottingham Trent University in the United Kingdom and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt. He will relocate to Birmingham, Alabama, and will be based at the ECS Revere facility. Baines plans to meet with teams throughout the ECS Division and engage with key customers to align commercial priorities for the remainder of 2026 and beyond.

Baines’ background includes roles such as Vice President of Sales for Asia Pacific at Flowserve, where he led a 200-person organization covering India, China, Southeast Asia, North Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. Prior to that, he served as Flowserve's Director of Demand for its Industrial group in Dallas and as Director of Commercial Operations for Asia Pacific, with assignments in Singapore and Australia.

Throughout his career, Baines has been involved in developing high-performing regional sales and customer-support organizations and implementing disciplined commercial processes, including strategic pricing, demand management, and sales, inventory, and operations planning. His experience also encompasses complex, consultative business-to-business sales involving OEMs, engineering, procurement and construction firms, end users, and channel partners across both original equipment and aftermarket markets.
