SYDNEY, Sept. 23, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Siltrax, a hydrogen technology company based in Sydney, Australia, has unveiled the C2 Series, a 2-6 kW air-cooled hydrogen fuel cell platform designed to meet the demands of commercial and industrial unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and off-grid applications. The launch of the C2 Series marks a significant advancement in the field of air-cooled fuel cell technology, addressing the limitations of battery-electric propulsion systems in UAVs and other applications where extended flight duration and payload capacity are critical.
The C2 Series was developed to provide a compact, lightweight solution for UAV propulsion, portable power, and off-grid energy systems. According to Daniel Zafir, Director of Business Development & Global Partnerships at Siltrax, the C2 Series was designed to meet the needs of customers seeking longer operating times and greater payload capacity without adding unnecessary weight and complexity.
The C2 Series is built around three principal design elements: air-cooled operation, dedicated fans that move ambient air through the stack’s cooling channels, and a closed-cathode architecture that separates the cooling airflow from the cathode reactant-air supply. This design allows for independent management of oxygen flow, pressure, and filtration, increasing both the performance and durability of the system. Additionally, the dead-end anode architecture supports efficient hydrogen utilization while eliminating the need for a continuously operating hydrogen-recirculation circuit, further reducing balance-of-plant weight and complexity.
The C2 Series supports power outputs from 2 kW to 6 kW, with a 3 kW reference architecture providing a starting point for customer evaluation and application integration. The platform can be operated in parallel, meeting power needs up to 24 kW. The C2 Series is rated at 3.6 kW and offers a gravimetric power density of over 1.5 kW/kg, operating within an ambient temperature range of -20°C to 40°C. These specifications make the C2 Series particularly suited for remote power, mobile generators, autonomous systems, and other weight-sensitive applications.
Siltrax will showcase the C2 Series at the Hydrogen Technology World Expo, held at Hamburg Messe, Germany, from 20-22 October 2026. The company has already begun customer integration programs and partner demonstrations across the Asia-Pacific region, indicating a strong market validation and readiness for broader adoption.
Siltrax, which has been advancing hydrogen technology through silicon-based PEM fuel cells and electrolyzers for 40 years, is expanding its commercial presence and customer partnerships across the Americas. The C2 Series represents a significant step forward in the company's mission to provide practical, simplified fuel cell systems for a range of demanding applications.
