Sight Sciences Launches OMNI Ultra Surgical System at AAO 2026

MENLO PARK, Calif., Oct. 01, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Sight Sciences, an eyecare technology company, has announced the commercial availability of the OMNI Ultra Surgical System, an expansion of its pioneering ab interno canaloplasty platform. The new technology will be showcased at the 2026 American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) annual meeting, which takes place from October 9 to 12 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The OMNI Ultra Surgical System is designed to reduce intraocular pressure (IOP) by addressing all three known areas of resistance within the conventional aqueous outflow pathway: the trabecular meshwork, Schlemm's canal, and the collector channels. It can be used in a standalone procedure or in combination with cataract surgery in adult patients with primary open-angle glaucoma. Key features include comprehensive implant-free intervention, single pass canaloplasty, TruSync Plus technology, and enhanced catheter visualization.
In addition to the OMNI Ultra, Sight Sciences will also preview the new Clearance Assistant Plus™ at AAO. This dual-action tool is designed for both meibomian gland expression and eyelid debridement for use with the TearCare® System. The TearCare System, which is 510(k) cleared in the United States, is designed to address meibomian gland dysfunction through precisely controlled, targeted thermal energy delivered directly to the eyelids while preserving natural blinking.
Sight Sciences will host several events at the AAO annual meeting. These include the ASOA Live! IG Dinner Series on October 8, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, at Tableau, 616 St. Peter Street, for an engaging, case-based discussion exploring the real-world adoption of interventional glaucoma across three distinct practices. The company will also hold TearCare Clearance Experience Sessions on October 10 and 11, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, and 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm, at Booth #1237, where attendees can see a live TearCare demonstration and hear from peers sharing real-world insights on integrating TearCare into clinical practice.
