SIG SAUER Secures 21st Dismissal in P320 Lawsuit

NEWINGTON, N.H. – In a significant legal victory, SIG SAUER has secured the dismissal of the Jordan vs. SIG SAUER Inc. lawsuit in Georgia's DeKalb County, bringing the total number of successful dismissals to more than 20 cases involving the P320 firearm.

The case stemmed from a training incident in May 2022, where a police officer inadvertently pulled the trigger, resulting in an injury. In a deposition, the officer admitted to this mistake, dispelling the plaintiff's claims of a firearm defect. The plaintiff did not present any contradictory expert reports and chose not to contest SIG SAUER's motion to dismiss the case. The court, in its ruling, confirmed that the P320 "performed exactly as expected."

This latest legal win follows a series of other successful outcomes for the P320, including voluntary dismissals by plaintiffs, court-ordered dismissals, and jury verdicts in favor of SIG SAUER. It also aligns with a robust U.S. military inspection that has certified the pistol as both "safe and reliable." The inspection involved an exhaustive review of 113,479 firearms, with over 1.5 million rounds fired, ultimately concluding that "all investigated incidents of alleged 'uncommanded discharges' have been traced back to the trigger being pulled, and not due to an issue with the firearm."

The P320, an innovative strike-fired pistol, is trusted by the U.S. military, elite law enforcement, and federal agencies. SIG SAUER maintains that the firearm cannot discharge without a trigger pull, a claim repeatedly verified through rigorous testing by the company, the U.S. military, law enforcement agencies, and independent laboratories.

"SIG SAUER is committed to delivering the highest quality and reliability in our products," said a company spokesperson. "This dismissal reaffirms our dedication to meeting the rigorous standards expected by our customers, including the U.S. military."

The company also points to a recent U.S. Department of War inspection that concluded the P320 is "safe and reliable." This comprehensive assessment included a detailed examination of 113,479 firearms, with over 1.5 million rounds fired, finding no defects in the firearm itself.
