Sidus Space Signs MOU with 3GM Plus for Slovenian Satellite Program

Sidus Space, an innovative space and defense technology company, has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with 3GM Plus, a Slovenian company based in Ljubljana, to collaborate on the development of Slovenia’s small satellite capability. The agreement was signed during World Space Business Week in Paris.

Under the terms of the MOU, 3GM Plus will serve as the prime contractor for Slovenian satellite programs, while Sidus will act as a subcontractor, providing satellite bus technology, engineering development, and flight-proven hardware, including Sidus’s Fortis VPX Maxima digital mission computing platform. Sidus was chosen based on its proven track record, having designed, manufactured, and operated its own LizzieSat satellites.

Carol Craig, Founder, CEO, and Chairman of Sidus Space, stated, "Europe is investing in sovereign space and defense capability at an unprecedented pace, and Slovenia has decided to build this capability rather than buy it. Sidus is structured to support this initiative by licensing technology, supplying key hardware, and facilitating the development of a domestic satellite program. Our objective is to be a long-term partner in a national program, not just a one-time supplier."

The collaboration will involve a phased approach. Initially, Sidus will support the development of satellites at its facility in Cape Canaveral, Florida, with Slovenian engineering personnel participating directly in the build. This will be followed by the establishment of an assembly, integration, and test facility in Slovenia. 3GM Plus will lead the development of this facility, leveraging its expertise in cleanroom and controlled-environment systems for satellite manufacturing.

The MOU also includes structured knowledge transfer to Slovenian personnel, encompassing hands-on engineering participation, onsite support during integration, and training for both defense and civil mission operations. Jure Milošević, CEO of 3GM Plus, noted, "Slovenia has the engineering talent and industrial base to support a national satellite program, but lacks the flight experience. Sidus’s heritage in designing, building, and operating its own satellites allows us to establish this capability in Slovenia on a credible timeline."

Sidus Space, headquartered on Florida's Space Coast, operates a 35,000-square-foot facility for space manufacturing, assembly, integration, and testing. The company is committed to rapid innovation, adaptable solutions, and the optimization of space systems and data collection performance. With its mission of "Space Access Reimagined," Sidus Space serves government, defense, intelligence, and commercial customers around the globe.
