TORONTO, Sept. 15, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Shoppers Foundation for Women’s Health has launched a national campaign called Giving Shelter, aimed at supporting women and children who are fleeing domestic violence. The campaign, which runs from September to October 9, is raising funds to help more than 300 women’s shelters and programs across Canada.

According to Paulette Minard, Director of Community Investment at Shoppers Foundation for Women’s Health, intimate partner violence is a widespread issue in Canada.

Shoppers Drug Mart® and Pharmaprix® stores across the country are participating in the fundraising effort. Customers can contribute by rounding up their purchase totals at checkout. One hundred percent of the donations remain in the communities where they are raised, allowing local organizations to provide essential services and resources to women and children seeking safety.

Kim Ruse, CEO of FearIsNotLove, one of the local charities being supported, emphasized the importance of the campaign. “Safety changes everything. When a woman experiencing abuse reaches out for help, she needs to know there is somewhere safe to turn,” Ruse said.

To make the support even more impactful, Shoppers Foundation for Women’s Health will match funds raised through in-store round-up and online donations from September 25 to 27, up to a total of $150,000. This additional support will help generate even more resources for local women’s shelters and programs.

The Giving Shelter campaign is part of Shoppers Foundation for Women’s Health’s broader mission to contribute to women’s health initiatives and make care more equitable and accessible. The Foundation has already surpassed its goal of contributing $50 million by 2026, and it remains committed to building a future where more women in Canada can lead healthier lives.

Shoppers Foundation for Women’s Health encourages Canadians to participate in the campaign and support local organizations that are making a difference in the lives of women and children. To donate or learn more about the campaign, individuals can visit shoppersfoundation.ca.
