SerialTek, a company at the forefront of protocol test and analysis solutions, has announced the launch of its new Kodiak™ PCIe® 7.0 Protocol Test and Analysis System, set to ship in Q1 2027. This advanced system is designed to revolutionize the way engineers analyze and test high-speed PCIe 7.0 protocols, offering analysis in seconds rather than hours.
The new system is engineered to process data at the point of capture, ensuring that the data never leaves the system. With its embedded server, onboard SSD storage, and end-to-end optimized data paths, engineers can pull up large traces in seconds, without transferring data for processing elsewhere. This feature significantly enhances efficiency, especially in tight validation windows where time is of the essence.
At 128 GT/s, even minimal loss or distortion from an interposer in the electrical path can critically impact PCIe 7.0 performance. SerialTek’s SI-Fi™ (Signal Integrity Fidelity) technology is engineered for ultra-low loss and transparent signal tapping, with a substantial portion of the PCIe 7.0 program’s engineering investment dedicated to advancing these capabilities. Integrated power analysis correlates voltage, current, and power with protocol events on a single timeline, providing comprehensive insights into signal integrity.
Kodiak’s BusXpert™ web platform runs in any modern browser on any operating system, making it accessible from anywhere. There is no software to install or client to maintain, and captured files never need to move. Analysis runs directly from the equipment, with processing and storage happening entirely on Kodiak’s embedded server. This ensures that the engineer’s PC remains responsive even with the largest traces open, facilitating seamless collaboration among distributed teams.
The system is fully programmable, with a REST API that drives every function of the system. A Python SDK integrates capture, analysis, and traffic generation into CI/CD pipelines for unattended regression. SerialTek’s own validation engineers use this interface to apply AI to link statistics across multi-day windows, catching drift and anomalies that no one is watching for in real time.
In addition to its advanced features, Kodiak is also a PCI-SIG® authorized compliance testing solution. Thanks to optimized data paths that accelerate analysis, it completes a full compliance session in under 30 minutes, at least twice as fast as similar solutions. As the PCIe 7.0 compliance program takes shape, SerialTek intends to bring the same execution speed to 128 GT/s testing.
Teams developing PCIe 7.0 silicon and systems for AI and hyperscale applications are encouraged to contact SerialTek for a technical briefing to align capabilities, configurations, and deployment timing with their specific program requirements. With nearly two decades of validation expertise, SerialTek’s Kodiak platform is trusted by leading silicon and systems manufacturers to ensure the performance, reliability, and interoperability of designs built on PCI Express® (PCIe®), Compute Express Link® (CXL®), and NVM Express® (NVMe®).
