Selkirk Copper Mines Inc., a company with a controlling interest held by the Selkirk First Nation, has announced the filing of an updated Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for its 100%-owned Minto Project in Yukon, Canada. The technical report, prepared by Moose Mountain Technical Services and Fuse Advisors (part of SLR), was filed on SEDAR+ and can be accessed under the company's issuer profile.
The MRE, which has an effective date of June 10, 2026, was prepared in accordance with the 2014 Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) Definition Standards and the 2019 CIM Best Practices Guidelines. The report was reviewed and approved by Leif Bailey, P.Geo., Director of Geoscience & Exploration of Selkirk Copper Mines Inc., who is a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101.
Selkirk Copper Mines Inc. is a well-financed, newly formed company that is completing a thorough exploration drilling campaign and a restart and redevelopment plan for the former Minto copper-gold-silver mine. The company's plans are based on best-in-class environmentally sustainable mining, development, and reclamation practices. Selkirk Copper controls 26,850 hectares of prospective mineral claims, including significant open-pit and underground infrastructure, a 4,100-tonne-per-day processing plant, and various ancillary buildings and mobile equipment centered on the former Minto mine.
The Selkirk First Nation, a self-governing First Nation centered in Pelly Crossing, Yukon, holds a controlling equity stake in Selkirk Copper through its wholly owned subsidiary. The First Nation owns 4,740 square kilometers of Settlement Land, including 2,408 square kilometers where they own both the surface and subsurface. Selkirk Copper's mineral tenure, operation infrastructure, access roads, and powerline are located on or adjacent to these lands.
The company's mineral resource estimate is part of a broader effort to develop the Minto Project. Selkirk Copper plans to integrate the results of its ongoing drilling program into ongoing studies, with the goal of supporting a feasibility study. The company's President and CEO, M. Colin Joudrie, expressed satisfaction with the updated MRE, stating, "The updated Mineral Resource Estimate is a significant milestone in our efforts to restart and develop the Minto Project. We are committed to advancing this project in a sustainable and responsible manner."
