Select Water Solutions, Inc., a leading provider of sustainable water management and chemical solutions, has released its 2025 Sustainability Report, highlighting significant progress in environmental stewardship and operational excellence. The report details the company’s achievements in water recycling, greenhouse gas emissions reduction, and safety performance, underscoring its commitment to sustainable growth in the energy sector.
According to the report, Select Water Solutions treated or recycled 23.3 billion gallons of water in 2025, marking a 16% increase from the previous year. This success is attributed to the company’s strategic expansion efforts, including multiple new long-term contracts for facility development, bolt-on acquisitions, and a strategic asset swap. Additionally, the company broke ground on Texas’s first produced water lithium extraction facility, signaling a significant milestone in its expansion plans.
In 2025, Select meaningfully surpassed its sustainability-linked credit facility targets, increasing produced water recycling by 17% and improving employee safety by 51%. John Schmitz, Chairman of the Board, President, and CEO of Select Water Solutions, stated, "2025 was a year of growth and key milestones for our business. We significantly enhanced our recycling operations and continued to advance our beneficial reuse efforts, positioning us well for continued sustainability efforts in 2026."
Environmental stewardship was a central focus, with a 7% year-over-year reduction in combined Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. This achievement was supported by continued investments in pipeline infrastructure, fleet replacements, and Tier-4 upgrades. The report notes that Select’s efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions resulted in a 20,000 metric ton reduction in Scope 1 emissions and a limited 2,000 metric ton increase in Scope 2 emissions due to ongoing growth and electrification efforts.
Select also increased its recycled water volumes as a percentage of total water sold, rising from 61% in 2024 to 78% in 2025. This shift significantly reduced the company’s freshwater resource consumption. The report highlights a lost time incident rate (LTIR) and total recordable incident rate (TRIR) of 0.16 and 0.31, respectively, reflecting the company’s commitment to safety.
Schmitz added, "We are encouraged by the progress made and are well-positioned to continue advancing our sustainability efforts. Our commitment to environmental stewardship and operational excellence is at the core of our business model, and we will continue to prioritize these values as we move forward."
