Select Health Awards $150,000 to 30 Idaho, Nevada, Utah Organizations
In a significant effort to bolster community health, Select Health, a subsidiary of Intermountain Health, has distributed $150,000 to 30 organizations across Idaho, Nevada, and Utah. These awards, part of the annual Select Health Awards program, recognize and support groups addressing a wide range of social determinants of health, from food security and housing stability to educational opportunities and preventive health services.
The 2026 recipients include a diverse array of organizations working to improve the lives of individuals and families in the Mountain West region. Each group received $5,000 to support local initiatives that strengthen community resilience and well-being.
Among the awardees in Idaho are the Four County Alliance of Southeast Idaho, which focuses on workforce development and education, and the Idaho Hispanic Foundation, which connects Hispanic and Latino individuals with resources and leadership opportunities. In Nevada, organizations like Chefs for Kids aim to combat childhood hunger, while the Foundation Assisting Seniors provides critical support for older adults in need. In Utah, the Salt Lake Harm Reduction Project works to reduce stigma and provide health resources, addressing both individual and community health needs.
Rob Hitchcock, president and CEO of Select Health, emphasized the broader factors influencing health beyond medical care. "Health is shaped by many factors beyond medical care," he said. "Access to safe housing, nutritious food, education, social support, and preventive services all influence a person's health and well-being. The organizations recognized through this year's Select Health Awards address these needs every day, helping people build stronger foundations for health, create opportunities to thrive, and make a lasting difference in their local communities."
The 2026 awards reflect the ongoing commitment of Select Health to support community-based solutions that advance healthier, more resilient communities. For nearly two decades, the program has provided over $1 million to community organizations, highlighting the significant impact these awards have had.
Hitchcock concluded, "The organizations recognized this year reflect the many ways communities come together to support health and well-being. From supporting families and students to expanding access to food, housing, education, and community services, these organizations are making a positive impact throughout communities in Idaho, Nevada, and Utah."
