Satellogic Names Vice Admiral (Ret.) Frank D. Whitworth as President

NEW YORK, Sept. 08, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Satellogic, Inc. has appointed Vice Admiral (Ret.) Frank D. “Trey” Whitworth as its new President. Whitworth will take on this role immediately, drawing on his extensive background in the U.S. Navy and the intelligence community.

Whitworth previously served as the Director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) from June 2022 to November 2025, leading a 16,000-person Combat Support Agency and overseeing the expansion of the Pentagon’s Project Maven artificial intelligence program. Before his tenure at NGA, he held key positions such as Intelligence Director for The Joint Staff, advising the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; Intelligence Director for U.S. Africa Command; Deputy Director for Computer Network Operations at the National Security Agency; and Intelligence Director for Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC).

In his new role at Satellogic, Whitworth will lead the company’s internal operations, integrating mission-critical tasks with sales and marketing efforts. He will also shape the strategy for the company’s defense and intelligence product suite. The appointment comes as Satellogic scales increasingly complex, mission-critical sovereign satellite programs for governments and defense partners around the world.
