Sagent Pharmaceuticals Launches Zyogreen® for Fluorescence-Guided Procedures

SCHAUMBURG, Ill., Sept. 22, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Sagent Pharmaceuticals has launched Zyogreen®, the first and only FDA-approved ready-to-use indocyanine green (ICG) injection in the United States. This new product, which eliminates the need for reconstitution at the point of care, is expected to revolutionize fluorescence-guided procedures and diagnostic imaging.

Zyogreen® is a sterile, ready-to-use optical imaging agent that can be used in a variety of surgical and imaging procedures. It is particularly useful in vascular, gastrointestinal, and organ transplant surgeries, as well as in ophthalmology for angiography. The product is also indicated for imaging extrahepatic biliary ducts and lymphatic mapping in gynecologic oncology.

The U.S. market for indocyanine green was valued at approximately $128 million for the twelve months ending in July 2026, according to IQVIA.

Zyogreen® is available now through Sagent's nationwide distribution network. It is indicated for fluorescence imaging of vessels, blood flow, and tissue perfusion in adults and pediatric patients; imaging of extrahepatic biliary ducts in adults and pediatric patients; fluorescence imaging of lymph nodes and lymphatic vessels during lymphatic mapping in adults with cervical and uterine cancer; and ophthalmic angiography in adults and pediatric patients.

The product comes with important safety information. Contraindications include patients with a history of hypersensitivity to indocyanine green. Hypersensitivity reactions, including anaphylaxis, have been reported following intravenous administration of indocyanine green. Always have cardiopulmonary resuscitation personnel and equipment readily available and monitor all patients for hypersensitivity reactions. Because Zyogreen contains sodium iodine, the iodine-binding capacity of thyroid tissue may be reduced for at least one week following administration. Additionally, do not perform radioactive iodine uptake studies for at least one week following administration of Zyogreen.
