Ryde, a technology leader in mobility and quick commerce in Singapore, has joined forces with Tencent Cloud and AI Singapore for the AI CAN DO IT Tencent Cloud Hackathon Singapore 2026. The hackathon, which runs from September to November 2026, aims to explore how autonomous multi-agent AI can enhance operational efficiency, decision consistency, and customer experience in the ride-hailing industry.
The system comprises three specialized agents: a Rider Advocate Agent, a Driver Advocate Agent, and an impartial Judge Agent.
Nitin Dolli, Chief Technology Officer of Ryde, emphasized the importance of Agentic AI in advancing the capabilities of AI beyond simple response generation.
The hackathon, which includes a five-track programme, is expected to bring together developers, start-up founders, and university students to develop practical AI solutions. The challenge presented by Ryde is one of several industry-specific statements that participants will address. The prototypes developed during the hackathon will be showcased during a Demo Day on November 3, 2026.
Ryde's initiative is part of its broader strategy to explore greater automation, faster decision-making, and more scalable operations. By leveraging Agentic AI, Ryde aims to support the scalability of its 0% commission model for private-hire and taxi driver-partners as the platform grows. The company's commitment to this model is a key differentiator, ensuring that more of every hard-earned dollar goes to driver-partners on the platform.
Tencent Cloud's Bluefin Jiannan Zhao, Vice President of Tencent Cloud and Managing Director of Tencent Cloud International for Asia Pacific, expressed excitement about the hackathon's potential to support the growth of local AI talent.
The hackathon is part of a larger effort to explore the practical applications of emerging AI architectures. Participating teams will develop end-to-end prototypes capable of handling at least two dispute categories, including route deviation, no-show charges, property damage, and safety incidents. Solutions will be assessed on criteria such as multi-agent architecture, evidence gathering, fairness and transparency, business impact, and scalability.
Ryde's involvement in the hackathon underscores its commitment to innovation and its role as a leader in the mobility and quick commerce sectors. By engaging with the developer community, Ryde aims to drive advancements in AI technology that can benefit the broader ride-hailing industry.
