ARLINGTON, Va., Sept. 15, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- RTX, a global leader in aerospace and defense, has announced the appointment of Jill Albertelli as the new president of Pratt & Whitney, effective January 1, 2027. Albertelli will take over from Shane Eddy, who is retiring after a 40-year career with the company.

Albertelli's appointment comes with a wealth of experience across various critical areas of Pratt & Whitney. She has held the position of president of Pratt & Whitney's Military Engines division, where she secured the company's sole-source propulsion position on the F-35 fighter aircraft. During her tenure, she also improved the F135 engine's delivery and quality performance and expanded sustainment capabilities to ensure mission readiness for military customers.

Chris Calio, RTX's Chairman and CEO, praised Albertelli's extensive background and said, "Jill is a seasoned and highly respected leader with over three decades of experience across nearly every corner of Pratt & Whitney. Her proven track record and deep understanding of the business and our customer base make her the right person to lead Pratt & Whitney into the future."

Albertelli's career at Pratt & Whitney spans a broad range of roles, including engineering, manufacturing operations, quality, supply chain management, commercial programs, sales, maintenance repair operations, and transformation and strategy. Her most recent role as president of Pratt & Whitney's Military Engines division underscores her expertise in critical defense programs.

Shane Eddy, who will remain with the company as a special advisor until March 2027, guided Pratt & Whitney through a multi-year transformation effort and the production and sustainment ramp for two critically important programs for RTX: the Geared Turbo Fan™ and F135 engines.

RTX, with more than 180,000 global employees, continues to push the limits of technology and science to redefine how we connect and protect our world. The company's commitment to innovation and excellence is evident in its diverse portfolio of products and services, including integrated defense systems, next-generation technology solutions, and manufacturing advancements.

Albertelli's appointment is a significant milestone for Pratt & Whitney and RTX, as she brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record to the role. Her leadership is expected to drive continued growth and success for the company in the years ahead.
