BOSTON, Sept. 3, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Rockpoint and Newbond Holdings have joined forces to acquire the Hotel Maren Fort Lauderdale, a 12-story oceanfront property located in the heart of Fort Lauderdale Beach. The deal, while financial details remain undisclosed, marks a significant expansion of the two firms' ongoing partnership, which includes their recent acquisition of the Westin Tampa Waterside in September 2025.
Built in 2021, the hotel occupies a prime 0.8-acre waterfront location at 525 South Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard, offering 141 guestrooms with unobstructed views of the ocean or the intracoastal waterway. The boutique hotel boasts a range of amenities including an oceanfront pool and sun deck, multiple dining and bar options, retail spaces, and a fitness studio.
Patrick Ryan, a Managing Director at Rockpoint, highlighted the strategic importance of the acquisition: "Hotel Maren is a high-quality beachfront property in a compelling submarket with attractive long-term fundamentals. We believe there is a meaningful opportunity to build on the hotel's existing strengths through targeted enhancements of the property and guest experience."
Neil Luthra, Founding Partner of Newbond Holdings, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the potential for growth in the area. "Fort Lauderdale Beach continues to evolve as a destination, and we see tremendous opportunity in this particular stretch south of Las Olas. Hotel Maren is a recently built, oceanfront asset with oversized guestrooms, exceptional water views, and a location that we believe will become increasingly compelling as the surrounding area continues to attract significant investment."
Both Rockpoint and Newbond plan to invest in the hotel’s food and beverage offerings and public areas, aiming to further enhance the guest experience. The acquisition aligns with their broader strategy to create significant value through creative structuring and operations.
Rockpoint, a real estate private equity firm with a focus on fundamental value investing, has been active in the U.S. market since 1994. The firm's co-founders, alongside others, have sponsored 19 investment vehicles and related co-investment vehicles, with a total peak capitalization of approximately $84 billion.
Newbond Holdings, an investment platform focused on real estate and hospitality, aims to create value through its vertically integrated operations and investment strategies. The acquisition of the Hotel Maren Fort Lauderdale represents a key step in the firm's continued growth and expansion in the Florida real estate market.
