CRAWLEY, England, Oct. 9, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Roam Charging, a company dedicated to transforming the electric vehicle (EV) charging experience, has launched a new initiative designed to help businesses and property owners modernize their outdated EV charging infrastructure. The initiative offers businesses up to £1,000 for every qualifying charger they replace, with an additional £500 for each single-socket charger, and up to £1,000 for each dual-socket charger. This move aims to assist organizations in moving away from aging, faulty, or non-compliant EV charging infrastructure without incurring the associated costs.

The new scheme, created to address the challenges posed by outdated charging equipment, is available to organizations that enter into long-term leases or other site agreements with Roam. Under the initiative, Roam will remove qualifying chargers in communal parking bays and replace them with fully managed, OCPP-compliant Roam chargers. The company will provide the replacement equipment and standard installation works at no cost to the organization.

The initiative is particularly relevant as organizations across the UK face the challenge of maintaining EV charging equipment that may have been installed several years ago. Ageing infrastructure can become more expensive and difficult to manage, while changes in technology and regulation can leave older systems increasingly unsuitable for long-term use. Roam's initiative seeks to address these issues by offering a straightforward solution for organizations to upgrade their charging infrastructure.

Roam Charging's CEO, James Randall, explained the company's motivation behind the initiative.

By paying organizations to replace qualifying chargers and taking responsibility for the ongoing management, maintenance, and support of the new infrastructure, Roam is helping customers move away from ageing equipment while providing a much more reliable charging experience. The company also provides a fully managed service covering monitoring, maintenance, and support, ensuring that the equipment removed is dealt with responsibly through WEEE recycling.

For EV drivers, the upgrade provides a simpler and more reliable charging experience, while helping businesses, property owners, and site operators reduce the management burden and long-term risk associated with older infrastructure.

Businesses, property owners, and developments with existing non-compliant, faulty, ageing, or unmanaged EV chargers can speak to Roam to find out whether their infrastructure qualifies and how much they could receive.

Roam's replacement chargers are OCPP compliant, helping organizations futureproof their charging infrastructure and avoid becoming unnecessarily tied to ageing or unsupported hardware.
