NEW YORK, Oct. 8, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Adult Recess invites New Yorkers to rediscover PLAY, one of Rhone's 12 Pursuits for living a more active, connected life, by transforming Hudson Yards' Public Square & Gardens into an unexpected playground. Rhone, an Official Lifestyle Apparel Partner of the NBA, is hosting the event on Wednesday, October 14, from 10am to 6pm EDT. The activation will take place in the Public Square & Gardens, near the iconic Vessel, and will feature pick-up basketball games and other outdoor activities.

The event, which is free to attend, is part of Rhone's 12 Pursuits theme for October, which challenges the culture of constant optimization with a reminder: progress is about how you live. Rhone's partnership with the NBA is expanding off the court, with the launch of an expanded NBA licensed assortment of women's apparel, including Rhone's signature approach to comfort and style. The collection brings NBA fandom into everyday life, creating new ways for a broader community of fans to connect with the league.

The lunchtime takeover will feature open games where participants can get back on the court and play alongside fellow New Yorkers. There will also be nostalgic games like HORSE, Around The World, and Shoot Around, designed to get everyone involved, whether they consider themselves a basketball player or not. Joakim Noah, an NBA Legend, will join the action from 12pm to 2pm EDT for photo opportunities, autograph signings, and to compete alongside participants. Rhone's Co-Founder and Creative Director, Ben Checketts, will bring his personalities and energy to the court, and a Hat Customization Station will offer participants a chance to customize a complimentary Rhone hat with their favorite NBA team patch.

The event will also include The Rhone Team, who will bring their personalities and energy to the court, and a Giveaways and Music area will keep the energy high throughout the experience. The lunchtime takeover is designed to make play impossible to ignore, and New Yorkers will be invited to join a series of free activities built around movement, friendly competition, nostalgia, and unexpected moments.

The activation will also welcome a curated group of VIP press, influencers, and Rhone Reserve members for an elevated experience. Adult Recess extends beyond one afternoon in New York, as it is a tangible introduction to the 12 Pursuits, a year-long framework for building a stronger, steadier version of yourself, one month at a time. It encompasses the different pursuits that make a life well-lived and challenges the assumption that every hour needs to be optimized toward an outcome. Play is one of those pursuits.
