Rhelion Supplies PEX010 for Psilocybin Study in Netherlands

Rhelion Life Sciences Corp., an Ontario-based company advancing research in the legal psychedelic sector, has announced a significant supply and licensing agreement with the Centre for Human Drug Research (CHDR) in Leiden, the Netherlands. Through its wholly owned subsidiary, Filament Health Corp., Rhelion will supply PEX010, a patented, standardized, and GMP-manufactured botanical psilocybin drug candidate, for a study of low and medium dose psilocybin.
The study, sponsored by CHDR in collaboration with the PRSM Lab at Leiden University, aims to explore the therapeutic potential of psilocybin at various doses. The agreement between Filament and CHDR will see the supply of PEX010 in 1 mg and 5 mg capsule forms, along with matching placebo capsules. Additionally, Filament will provide regulatory support for the clinical trial application under the European Union Clinical Trials Regulation.
Rhelion's CEO, Todd Shapiro, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, "PEX010 is a testament to our commitment to advancing the natural psychedelic drug discovery and development sector. The study is subject to regulatory and ethics approval, and Filament is not responsible for the conduct of the trial. PEX010, developed using Filament's proprietary and patented extraction, purification, and stabilization methods, is available in a standardized dosing range of 1, 5, and 25 mg, with a 0.5 mg dose expected to be added soon. This standardized approach ensures consistent composition across every dose, every study, and every research site.
Rhelion completed its acquisition of Filament Health Corp. on April 30, 2026, including its lead drug candidate, PEX010, and a portfolio of 77 issued patents across 13 patent families. This acquisition further solidifies Rhelion's position as a leading supplier of pharmaceutical-grade natural psilocybin, supporting more than 80 academic and philanthropic research studies worldwide.
The study, funded by Norrsken Mind, is expected to contribute valuable insights into the therapeutic potential of psilocybin at low and medium doses.
